UNCERTAIN OBSERVATION THROUGH SMALL CLOUD GAPS

- WARNING ;-) NO PRETTY PICTURES -

- NO VISUAL OBSERVATION, CAPTURED BY MOVIE MODE OF AUTOMATIC CAMERA -
- MAYBE A LITTLE BIT BETTER IMPRESSION THAN VIEWING THE IMAGES BELOW IS TO VIEW THE MOVIE -

ALL IN ALL IT IS ONLY GOOD ENOUGH TO SAY "YES, THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN NLC THIS NIGHT."

Edit 2015-10: Private note received from IAP which runs the OSWIN (2) radar site (only approx. 20 km away from me to W) says:

"Free translation": "~Just that night we had the first test measurements with OSWIN. OSWIN recorded (late) MSE in the evening from 16:30-19:00 UT and in the morning on from 04:30 UT ..."

(Hint: OSWIN (2) had a breakdown for a longer period and has not been online in the first part of this NLC season.)

Original movie running time = 21:01:00 - 00:08:00 UTC.

Movie running time show here = ~21:07:40 - 21:28:20 UTC.

Possible first (mini) light cloud gap at ~21:12:30 UTC ...
... and then ...
a little better sequence from ~21:19:30 - 21:25:30 UTC.

The structures that might be NLC can also be only overexposured areas between the dark clouds but probably it seems that the "structures" are real (?).

So please let us wait for other observations...

Please note edit from 2015-10 above: There have been late MSE measurements that evening near my point of obervation. That shows a good connection to probable NLC!
